Last week we considered this tough question … Why do we ask God for so much and expect so little? I left you thinking about whether you were more like the faith-filled Elisha or the doubting King Jehoash. Amy and I have been dialoging about this question for weeks now and have seen God give us experiences to what brings this question to life.
When we travel, Amy always wants to get the best accommodations possible and has learned to take advantage of things like hotel reward programs. She’s worked us up to being Marriott Silver Elite members which will often give us an upgraded room and other various perks. As we were heading to Delaware on a trip, Amy confided in me that she’s been trying hard to just leave the accommodations in God’s hands and to let Him work things out for our good … but it’s hard to not try and take over and finagle things herself. What I didn’t know is that Amy was quietly hoping that this hotel was going to up-grade us from a studio to a two-bedroom unit. And, that she was really trying to leave it all in God’s hands.
