Happy Birthday, Billy!

Today, December 19th, is Billy’s birthday!

I am so thankful to the Lord for allowing my husband to see another birthday. When I think back over the past year and all the people Billy has helped, prayed for, ministered to, encouraged, cried with, encouraged, challenged, spoke to when no one else did, put before himself, not gave up on, loved sacrificially … the word that comes to mind is FAITHFUL. Billy truly is a FAITHFUL man of God!

Revelation 20:10 says Be faithful until death and I will give you the crown of life.

I pray that God gives Billy many years of life and good health on this Earth and that he will continue to be FAITHFUL unto the Lord all the days of his life! May his example be one to follow and I hope this simple post encourages you to walk with God faithfully today and always.

God is faithful

I know it would mean a lot to him to hear from all of you FAITHFUL Wade in the Word readers by way of a birthday wish!

I AM CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST

Last week, I shared with you the life of two spirit-filled Christian men, Paul and Barnabas. I found myself thinking about these two men, their relationship and their passion for the Gospel, even long after I finished last week’s post.

I truly believe that it was the Holy Spirit that knitted these two Jewish men together. Paul was from the tribe of Benjamin and Barnabas was from the tribe of Levi. It was Barnabas who spoke up for Paul as we read in the Book of Acts 9:26-31 And when Saul (Paul) was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple. But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus. And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem. And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him. Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus. Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied. These men became companions in the work of ministry for the furtherance of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Yet there are times when a disagreement can cause companions to part ways and so it was with Paul and Barnabas.

DON’T RUN FOR YOUR LIFE, RUN FOR THE LIVES OF OTHERS

The gift of life is by far more precious than anything I can imagine, yet many of us take life for granted everyday. Some of us take life for granted in the way that we treat ourselves and others, then there are those of us who just give up on life completely. The word life, itself implies living, growing and have the ability to change. When God created all life and He gave it purpose. It was never intended for mankind to be alone or isolated. In living we are to glorify God by how we give and share with others.

Yes! It’s true that life is frail, but if we trust in God, life with all it frailties will produce hope, not in ourselves, but in Jesus. The psalmist King David must have learned this valuable lesson about life, I am reminded of this song he wrote, Psalm 118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. I strongly suggest that you read all of Psalm 118, it will encourage you to have a better perspective towards life, but more than life itself, you may find yourself coming to a place of worship and recognition of who the true life giver is, The Lord God.

The way we choose to live our lives is up to each of us, but there is a word of caution and wisdom given to all from the Book of Proverbs. Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way which seem right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” There are many ways that a person can choose to live out their life and I’ve given some thought to some of those ways concerning my own life, at times I have found myself at different points that have taken me through various stages, some of which have brought me comfort and others pain to myself and others. Take a moment to reflect on your life today, think about some of the stages that you have already gone through, ask yourself, “at what stage I’m I in today?” And where does God want me to be? Know that you and I have the ability to change how we accept our circumstances in life, with the help of Jesus we can make those needed changes in how we live.
