Whoo-hoo! Look who’s 62!

Hi there, Wade in the Word readers!
It’s Amy, Billy’s wife. Billy’s birthday is Friday, December 19th.  I told Billy for one of his birthday gifts, I’d write his post this week! He was thrilled because it is a welcomed break from all the work that goes into writing these posts.

I thought to myself, if Billy were writing a post on birthdays where would he begin … what would he do? Well, he’d go to the Lord and ask Him a question like, “Lord, what’s the big deal about birthdays?” The Spirit would take him to some scriptures that help make sense of it. Of course, he’d do some research by asking random people he meets along the way what they think about birthdays. And, after days or sometimes weeks of meditating on a topic, he’d write a wonderful post that blesses all who read it. Well, nobody can do what Billy does so I won’t even try!

I just asked the Lord to lead me to a scripture to be my birthday wish to Billy and the Lord took me to Numbers 6:24-26. Several years back we kind of adopted this as our family verse so it was so fitting when God took me there on my search.

Now, I didn’t tell him what I was going to write about because I wanted to surprise him. So he is reading this right along with all of you ☺ Now I need your help because the surprise is not really about my post on birthdays. The surprise is going to be all the wonderful comments I hope you all will leave wishing Billy a Happy Birthday.

So join me in wishing Billy a Happy 62nd Birthday!!!

  • Dearest Billy,
Praise God, He has allowed you to see 62 years of life! It has been the joy of my heart and my honor of being your wife. I love you and I love sharing our life together. May God, in His Grace and Mercy, give you a great portion of great health for many years to come so you can continue to be a blessing to all you touch with your life!
    All my love,

  • Happy B’day Billy,

How sweet it must be to have your lovely wife, my niece, express her admiration and love for you. What a lovely gift. What a testament to your character from your closest witness…

May you have Many, Many More Happy, Loving, Grace-filled Returns Billy Wade…

    Uncle Marc

  • The first thoughts of comments of my brother Billy have to do with what he’s like: friendly, likes to talk things out as he walks them out, knows the law but feels compassion for law breakers ( a real Officer Friendly), enjoys life and sees big things in the littlest of meals, comments, facial expressions,is thrilled when people ask for his help, he’s bound up with natural energy, and the list could go on but would be remiss if it were not mentioned that he is resolutely intent on following and imitatingJesus Christ. Billy serves like Jesus to preach The Gospel, he’s often with some broken-hearted person bringing healing, or somewhere preaching to someone who is captive that s/he can be free, or he’s helping another person see something who didn’t see something about her/himself, all the while telling all the above “Choose Jesus Christ” to stay well and out and away from being ravaged by the stuff above. That kind of life and work is described in Isaiah 61:1-3. Interestingly as I further read into Isaiah 62, (hint hint), the first Verse summarized what Billy is like- For Zion’s sake I won’t keep silent, and for Jerusalem’s sake I won’t sit still until her righteousness shines out like a light, and her salvation blazes like a torch. Billy won’t stop for the same reason and thank God for that and him. Blaze on Brother!

  • Happy Birthday My Dear Brother. I so thank God for you and your family being added as an addition to our family. I often think how the four of us became friends and all I can do is chuckle. What the enemy meant for bad God made it Great. Any what a great post.

    Love you Guys!!!!!!!

  • Billy Wade! I appreciate your passion for Christ and your compassion for people; great example man. Also, why you look younger than me and I’m only 39?! Happy birthday bro!

  • Happy birthday brother Billy!! I am so thankful God put our families together. Thank you for walking in God’s will for your life. You are a blessing to your family, friends and everyone else around you. You proclaim God’s love and truth every where you go. Keep going strong!

  • Thanks Demetrius, your comments remind me of John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. I now know that to lay down your life for a friend also means to have your life so visible to those you know and love, that they truly see all sides of your life. In other words you have nothing to hid from them. It’s not just being willing to only die for someone. It’s laying your life down in the deepest sense and that you’re willing to expose yourself to hurt and that alone can feel like death, but it worth the cost. Thank God for you. You know me in ways that even I didn’t know myself.

  • My dearest B Wade,
